Thank god for a rest day!!

For the last 3 days we have all had a taste of the 2010 CrossFit Games. Boy have these WOD’s been fun… Yesterday was short and sweet but also had some pretty technical movements involved. One being the pistol. This is a movement that we have done a few times but not as frequent as some of the others like pull-ups, or kettle bell swings.  Still Rick was able to provide every athlete with a scalable version of this exercise in order to complete the workout while still being able to find the intensity required in CrossFit workouts. pistol

These along with the Double Under are great shiny new toys and can be practiced anytime you’re in the box. While that isn’t enough, each of us were able to improve our deadlifts. We practiced using a good neutral spine position in this lift, making sure our chest is up, and our weight is back on our heels.

The WOD- AMRAP 7min     Deadlift (315, 205), 7 reps           20 meter Sprint, 14 Pistols           21 Double-unders, 20 meter Sprint

If you aren’t working out today it would probably be in your best interest to get some solid stretching in. I know I could use it!
